CARLTON WARE

1890, J.F. Wiltshaw formed a partnership with two Robinson brothers and entered a field of manufacturing which was already dominated by others. It is fair to say that by adhering to strict quality control they not only survived but became a market leader themselves. At the turn of the century they added a new line of Crested Ware, and again, high standards of manufacture soon gave them a good name within the market-place.

CARLTON CRESTED HEART SHAPED DISH RYDE This nice crested heart-shaped trinket or pin dish bears the coat of arms for Ryde. It is in very good condition lightly gilded with a very well decorated crest. It is 3.5 ins long and is a nice quality item. An interesting addition to a collection.

CARLTON CRESTED BOTTLE WINDSOR This is a 2 ins tall Carlton crested bottle which bears the coat of arms for Windsor. It is good quality and in good condition.

CLIFTON CHINA CRESTED FLASK VASE FROM RUSHDEN A beautiful flask shaped vase with the crest of Rushden in Northamptonshire is made by Clifton China. It has the sellers shop name on the base, 'H.Cartwright, General Stores, Rushden. Although from the early part of the last century it is in good condition with no damage and no wear to the gilding. It is 1.75 inches tall.

CORONA CRESTED SCENT BOTTLE EASTBOURNE This delightful piece of crested ware has the coat of arms for Eastbourne. The backstamp is Corona China. It is in good condition, 3 ins tall with a nicely decorated crest. A lovely addition to any collection!

CORONA HEXAGONAL CRESTED VASE LOWESTOFT This beautiful hexagonal shaped vase with the crest of Lowestoft in Suffolk is made by Hancock & Son, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Although from the early part of the last century it is in good condition with no damage and only slight wear to the gilding. It is 2.3 inches tall.

CORONET CRESTED BEAKER GUILDFORD This lovely piece of Coronet crested ware bears the coat of arms for Guildford in Surrey. It is 3 ins tall, in good condition, with nicely painted crest, though there is a small amount of wear to the gilding on the rim and to the border of the decal. The stamp to the base is Coronet. A lovely addition to the collection!
