Diet Fiber. Ref: ourohio.org

Bodybuilders have known for years about the direct connection between fiber and fat loss. However, until recently, it has been one of the few well kept secrets of those who intend to build muscle or trim body fat. Now, reports are coming out showing this correlation as well as the drop in occurrence of chronic degenerative diseases.

Fiber is defined as the cell walls of vegetables and fruits that are indigestible. These cell walls are only found in plants, so you cannot get fiber by just eating meat. There are actually two kinds of it; you have the insoluble fiber, which doesn’t dissolve in water, and the soluble fiber, which can dissolve in water. Both types of fiber, though, are needed by the body. If you can increase your intake of fiber, you can reduce your calories, since plants have very low calories.

Grand ruler of fashion in Paris and around the world Coco Chanel once said that while fashion fades, style remains the same. She’s right, of course, and one of the main mistakes the women make when shopping and dressing themselves is focusing too much on the present trends in fashion. It’s possible to look good and feel fabulous without becoming a slave to the season. In fact, dressing well is easier if you focus on timeless style rather than keeping up with the trends.

It’s not about the money. So you don’t have a walk-in closet and a disposable income of five figures to spend each time the season changes. That doesn’t mean you need to be running around in a burlap sack, honey. Regardless of your budget, it’s possible to find clothes that are stylish anywhere and everywhere. From thrift stores to designer stores, there’s always at least one garment in your size that’s classy, timeless, and chic. Learn to hunt for those pieces, and you’re pretty much promised a look that’s stylish.

In the past, it wasn’t practical to get just a few personalized shirts. For example, if you had a family reunion coming up, and you needed different designs for different branches of the family, silk screening would be too expensive. Setup charges and minimum order sizes mean that small runs or unique shirts are impractical. You could have gone with iron-on transfers, but we all know how poorly those hold up…

Even if you are not an adolescent experiencing the stage of puberty, you can still get acne if you don’t take good care of your skin. This skin condition is due to the excessive oil secreted by your skin which develops to pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. Most skin acne is apparent on faces while some develop this skin problem on their backs and other parts of the body.

Having acne causes a lot of people to hide their faces from friends, family and colleagues. People with acne have low self esteem especially when the skin condition is recurring and severe. Having acne can go from mild condition to extreme cases. The presence of acne is sometimes attributed to hereditary factors and stress levels of patients. Although there are also claims that acne is caused by some food particularly fatty foods, this has yet to be clinically proven.

Looking For Pearls And Antiques In Beijing

By Cathryn Zhang, February 5, 2008 9:07 am

The largest pearl store near the Temple of Heaven

The famous Pearl Market is very close to Beijing Haige International Hotel. Visitors from all over the world like to visit the Pearl Market for various items. When I visit a shop named Fanghua Pearl and Jewel, I was very impressed their beautiful, natural pearl necklaces. If you also want to give yourself a more elegant and noble look, don’t miss this shop.

This well-decorated shop is on the 4th floor of the market. You will find numerous pearl necklaces neatly displayed in the shop. The colors included milk white, golden yellow, pink, and black.

Ms. Carrie is a kind shop keeper. She told me Fanghua is the No.1 retailer of high-quality pearls in China. There are mainly three grouping of pearls in the shop: fresh water pearls, sea water pearls, and South Sea pearls.

Ms. Carrie explained to me how to distinguish real pearls from fake ones. There’s a rule for judjing fine pearls: the rounder and shinier, the better.

You will notice the photos on the wall showing foreign dignitaries visiting the shop: Margaret Thatcher, Putin’s wife, the Queen of Spain, and so on. The photos are proof of the charm of these Chinese pearls.

Next shop: antiques, jade jewelry and works of art

The Henan Plaza Beijing Hotel is very close to Chengtian Antique City in southeastern Beijing. If you want to visit some interesting antique shops, go to a shop that carries antiques, jade jewelry, and other Chinese artwork.

The shop owner Mr. Tang collected many antique porcelain wares, including vases, bowls, and plates. Some of them were antiques made in the Qing dynasty.

Mr. Tang, the shop owner, greeted me. He showed me a porcelain statue of Empress Dowager Cixi, a female ruler of the Qing dynasty. She sat on a stone bench with a big spotted dog. She was wearing a big black hat and a colorful button-down robe. Embroidered peonies and butterflies decorated her robe. In China, a peony represents wealth and status.

Jade jewelery items are also very popular here, including the pendants and bracelets. Jade symbolizes virtue and brings good health.

You can also find Chinese paintings, calligraphy, and wood carvings in this shop. They are all very good decorations for your room. So check it out on your way home to your Beijing hotel!
